Pete Doherty needs more drugs, and we need more music, simple supply and demand. Doherty's Babyshambles are back with their sophomore album, Shotter's Nation, and if you loved the wildness of The Libertines, this is about as close as you're gonna get. Unlike their last album, this one comes off much more like a normal album, which could be good or bad. To explain that, this cd is like if he took all the weird shit off his last one. So less songs, more organization, but no Pentonville II :(
Notable songs on the CD are, Delivery, a high energy song of self-pity (What Pete does best!). UnBiloTitled, a slower sad song reminicent of Blur's - This is a Low, with some catchy lyrics. Side of the Road is the next song on the track, and my favorite so far, a poppy, sing-songy tune with a very moshable chorus. Deft Left Hand is the song that quite a few other sites seem to like, it's not my favorite, but it does have a sweet verse. The Last song, Th Lost Art of Murder is a great last song for a CD, exiting on a note of slow desperation which Babyshambles/Libertines fans know all too well.

Shotter's Nation is a solid 2nd CD and ended up quite a bit better than it could have considering Doherty's insane habits. If you've never listened to Babyshambles, they're not for everyone, but they're sure worth checking out. I give this album 7/10, good, solid, surprisingly sober, but still falling short of the potentially awesome CD I know they can make.

I'd agree about the 7/10, it was great but could have been better. Pretty much what the Rolling Stone review said as well.
TOO BAD NOBODY ELSE CARES :-( SAY ANYTHING IS MORE APPRECIATED IN THESE PARTS OF TOWN
we like our estranged rockers AMERICAN damnit!
